About Us

The Geneseo Foundation was founded in 1961 with a one million dollar grant from the estate of George B. Dedrick, a prominent Geneseo businessman. It was his intent that the earnings be distributed annually for charitable, benevolent, civic, or educational purposes in the Geneseo area.
Through the years, the Geneseo Foundation has received additional significant contributions from the estates of numerous people such as the Wilbert and Carol Keppy estates, and the Leonard and Phyllis Hopkey estates, both prominent area farmers.
The Foundation is managed by the Board of Directors of Central Bank Illinois and is administered by the Bank's Trust and Asset Management Division. The performance of the invested funds is closely monitored, and worthy recipients are selected for annual grants from the earnings. Countless organizations and individuals have been awarded grants, which have greatly improved quality of life in the Geneseo area since the Goundation's inception.
If you wish to apply for a grant or make a contribution to the Geneseo Foundation, we would welcome the opportunity to visit with you. It is our mission and privilege to ensure that the vision of George Bedrick and the other contributors is carried out.
